Hinsdale Central Shuts Out Indian Trail

Hinsdale Central 5 Kenosha Indian Trail 0 at Carthage College

MATCH REPORT: Red Devils Grab Another Five Goals by Zamaan Qureshi

KENOSHA, Wi. (August 25, 2018) - The Red Devils registered another five goals on their trip up north to Kenosha, taking on Indian Trail. Another route was well executed by the Red Devils as well as Nathan Goliak picking up his first clean sheet of the season. The Red Devils took the early first-half lead through captain John-Paul Lteif. Heading into the break, Hinsdale Central had a 1-0 lead. But it was the second-half that eventually split the sides. With Central scoring four times in the second half, goals coming from Aidan White, Trey Tabachka, Gavin Schwarz, and an unfortunate own goal capped off an impressive victory for the Devils. Accumulating thirteen goals from their opening four games, White tucked away his fourth in four games,  Tabachka picked up his second of the season after easing his way back to full fitness, and Gavin Schwarz picked up his first goal of the season.

Speaking about the game, Coach Michael Wiggins played down the nature of the victory, saying, “Indian Trail is always a competitive program that we enjoy playing each year in Wisconsin.” Clearly understanding the need for keeping the focus, Wiggins commented “I don’t think the score really demonstrates the competitive nature they brought throughout the game. Last year we just got by them with a 1-0 result.”

More tough games follow for the Red Devils with the Red Devils heading to Downers Grove to take on Downers Grove South (DGS) away from home. A tough task awaits the Red Devils at DGS, but Wiggins will be making sure his side is ready and raring to go.
